Dr. Ahmad Ahmeda is an Associate Professor of Physiology at the College of Medicine, Ajman University. He completed his medical education at the University of Benghazi in Libya, followed by internships in Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency Medicine in Benghazi and Tobruk. After moving to Ireland, he became affiliated with University College Cork (UCC), where he held positions as Clinical Medical Demonstrator, Acting Lecturer, and later Lecturer in the Department of Physiology. He earned his PhD in Physiology in 2007 under the supervision of Professor Edward Johns, focusing on kidney function and oxidative stress. In 2008, he received a research fellowship funded by the Health Research Board to continue his work on renal physiology, specifically exploring how oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species affect kidney blood flow. Dr. Ahmeda joined King Saud University in Riyadh in 2014, where he served as Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor. His role involved teaching, supervising research projects, and various administrative duties. In 2019, he expanded his expertise by joining Qatar University’s College of Medicine, teaching Physiology within the newly adopted Problem-Based Learning medical curriculum. His research interests have centered on renal physiology, with particular emphasis on the role of oxidative stress in regulating blood flow in the kidney's cortex and medulla. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in this field.
