Ajman University Students Join Climate Ambassadors Program with Ministry of Climate Change and Environment

Ajman University students have participated in the Climate Ambassadors program, initiated by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with the Expo School Programme. The program aims to equip and empower students with a practical understanding of the difficulties posed by climate change, along with the strategies and practices currently being implemented to address them in a COP like simulation, following the COP28 conference which will be hosted in the UAE at the close of 2023.

Forty students from Ajman University, representing 40 nations, will tackle various climate change issues centered around carbon emissions and greenhouse gas mitigation, embodying ambassador roles for specific countries. They'll work closely with representatives from other nations to explore specific challenges faced by their countries due to the rising emissions as well as plan, negotiate, and engage in dialogues to find potential solutions for reduction and collaboration, culminating in the formulation of final decisions.

The Climate Ambassadors program serves as a pivotal platform for enhancing awareness and deepening knowledge about climate change among youth, fostering their active engagement in global endeavours to tackle this pressing challenge.

Ajman University, through its Sustainability Office, encourages student engagement in initiatives for a better future. By organizing and supporting such events, they aim to raise awareness about environmental conservation and urge students to adopt sustainable lifestyles.

Ajman University integrates sustainability into its curriculum and activities, fostering student interaction and impact. Programs like "Climate Ambassadors" offer students practical opportunities to apply acquired skills in real-world contexts.
