The College of Law at Ajman University organized a seminar entitled "Governance and Law" presented by Professor Mohammed Al Hussein, Professor of Public Administration and Professor Abdulsalam Salmi, a Professor of Administrative and Constitutional Law. The Dean, faculty members and postgraduate and undergraduate students attended the seminar.
The seminar tackled several topics including governance in the business sector, governance in public administration, the relationship of governance and law, and governance in the UAE (reality and prospects). The governance system was reviewed since it appeared in 1990s in public shareholding companies, then in the business sector, its rapid spread, the results achieved from its implementation, in addition to the importance of governance, its standards of application and its basic principles, especially accountability, transparency and fairness.
The seminar discussed the transition of governance later on, to public administration and its implementation in public administration since the beginning of the new millennium. The seminar also dealt with the relationship of governance with law, the transfer of governance to procedures and judicial administration and non-intervention in the authority of the judge.
