Ajman University (AU) students have stolen the show and won gold and silver medals in the Higher Education Sports Federation (HESF) Taekwondo Championship.
Abdul Rahman Ziad, a student in the College of Business Administration, pushed back all competitors, and won the first place and gold medal in the ‘Under 74kg Weight Division’.
Mohammed Sheikh Saleh, a student of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, secured the second position and silver medal in the ‘Under 63kg Weight Category’.
However, Ajman University ranked third in terms of participating universities in the tournament held recently at the United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, in the presence of scores of ardent students and fans.
Ajman University tennis team, including Anas Khalil Al Sadie, Mohamed Hazem Khalaf, Abdullah Mansour and Ehab Nazir – all dentistry students, seized the third place, University Level, in the HESF championship.
AU Sports Supervisor Captain Abdel Hamid Bakour applauded the spellbinding results of Ajman University players, while the Deanship of Student Affairs congratulated the players on their advanced positions.
