Ajman University students at the female hostel have organized a fun-filled cross-cultural event to give everyone a taste of traditional dishes from different countries.
The function, assumed by the Office of Hostel at the AU Deanship of Students Affairs, saw the presence of hostel manager Eng. Leena Taifour and housing supervisors.
In an informal setting infused with the smells of wonderful food, the thrilled female students proudly prepared and presented their culinary treats, enjoying the cuisines of 14 different communities.
Countries including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Morocco, India, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Yemen and Japan, were amongst the ones represented.
Participant students briefed their friends on the history and meanings of the intriguing dishes that included appetizers, main and sweet dishes.
Such events bring the students closer, broaden the horizons of knowledge about other countries and cultures, and creates an environment of cross-cultural integration and creative learning.
