Ajman University (AU) students, adopting the spirit of giving in the holy month of Ramadan, distributed 1,000 free Iftar meals at 14 Masjids in the emirates of Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah and Ajman.
The campaign, part of the AU Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has been initiated by the Unit of Community Service in collaboration with 90 students of different AU colleges.
Up to 2,600 date boxes were also distributed for free at the same emirates over six days; May 8, 9, 13, 20, 21, and 22, after the Taraweeh Prayers.
The ardent students, spiritually uplifted by the pioneering drive, have asked the Unit of Community Service to extend the campaign for more days so that more people are supported.
The annual campaign, held every Ramadan, has remarkably encouraged AU students to chip in to make a difference and always be part of such rewarding events.
The Unit of Community Service, to show appreciation to participant students, ran a mass Iftar for them all at the end of the holy month, and presented them with certificates of appreciation.
