Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the College of Mass Communication at Ajman University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in Ajman, organized a poetry festival entitled "Idd AlQisid"- reciting poetry. It is worth noting that the organizers hosted the Emirati poets Ali Al-Khawar and Sheikh Majid Al-Khatri. It is also worth mentioning that the event took place at Ajman Cultural Center.
The event began with a speech by Dr. Hosam Salama, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, in which he stressed the University's keenness to foster cooperation with various bodies and institutions in the country. Moreover, he highlighted the importance of poetry as a timeless literary genre, in which the poet mirrors the events that prevail in society, and addresses many issues. He also added that poetry is an indispensable cultural resource, and one verse is worth thousand pictures.
During the poetry recital, the two poets delivered brilliant and inspiring poems that took a myriad of topics ranging from the love of the country, tolerance to love poems. The audience which was about 500 cherished every verse and poem recited, showing great interaction and joy.
