The Mass Communication College here in Ajman University has actively shined in the 8th edition of the Sharjah International Government Communication Forum (SIGCF).
The two-day annual event was organized by the International Government Communication Centre (IGCC) of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) on March 20-21.
In his presentation at the ‘Researchers Platform’ Dr Hosam Salama, Dean of AU Mass Communication College, shed light on the category of the ‘Best Youth Initiative in Government Communication’.
Dr. Shereen Mousa, a professor with AU Mass Communication College, presented a research paper at the same Platform on the ‘Values of Tolerance reflected in the images posted on the Social Media Accounts of UAE Governments: Instagram as a case study.’
The Researchers Platform, initiated this year, showcased the latest government communication and university seminar and research papers and publications. Outstanding projects, initiatives and abstracts on government communication were also featured.
Shaima Al Balooshi and Mariam Musabah Al Alaili, students of AU Mass Communication College, gave a presentation on their graduation project titled: ‘Smart Consumer Protection in view of Modern Technological Applications’.
The project assumed in cooperation with Consumer Protection Department, Dubai, was supervised by Dr. Abdo Daoud.
Meanwhile, 35 students of AU Mass Communication College actively chipped in the various workshops organized by the International Government Communication Centre, while 40 other students participated in interactive sessions and discussions run by the Sharjah Press Club.
The International Government Communication Forum, held this year under the theme: ‘Behavioural Change Towards Human Development’, hosted a number of prominent figures and top officials from around the globe.
These included heads of state and governments, thought leaders, directors of regional and international organisations, representatives of civil society and study and research centres, media personnel and students of mass communication and media.
