Ajman University (AU), in a bid to mark the Year of Tolerance, has organized an arts workshop that saw the participation of gifted students from several universities.
The workshop, aimed to exchange technical expertise among university students across the UAE, was run by the Fine Arts Center at the Deanship of Student Affairs at the University under the theme: "Flower of Tolerance".
The students, talented in plastic arts of pastel and acrylic, drew the Flower of Tolerance from their own perspective using the techniques of artistic schools such as Expressionism, Surrealism, Abstractionism, Cubism and Impressionism.
Students from Al Qasimia University, Sharjah University, Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates University, and Ras Al Khaimah University chipped in the workshop.
The function, presented by Ms. Mona Al-Jabali, Fine Arts Executive at Ajman University, was attended and supervised by Mr. Abdul Jabbar Wiss, Fine Arts Executive at Al Qasimia University, and Mr. Mohammed Mahmoud, Fine Arts Executive at the University of Sharjah.
Meanwhile, Mariam Al Tamimi, student of University of Ajman, has stolen the show and won the first place in calligraphy branch of the national plastic art competition held recently at the University of Sharjah.
Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Dean of Student Affairs, congratulated the student on her exceptional winning painting.
