Crowds of Ajman University (AU) students, faculty and staff flocked to the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences & Exhibitions to mark the 48th UAE National Day.
The celebrations, themed “Legacy of our Ancestors”, saw the presence of H.E Dr. Sheikh Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ruler's Court, Ajman, AU Chancellor, Dr Karim Seghir, AU faculty, staff and students.
The function featured an exhibition of traditional and heritage markets, ancient artifacts, a museum of traditional medicine, and several exhibits for stamps, space, and aircrafts.
Old-days shops, heritage camp, traditional Majlis and fine arts exhibition in addition to a classic car display, and paintings of the later Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (RIP) were also part of the exceptional exhibition.
Bunches of balloons in national flag colors were flown high into the sky, while Ajman University campus was adorned in an ambiance of national songs, dances and traditional food to share the festivities spirit of the event.
The celebrations saw a one-act play themed ‘Zayed Dream’, an operetta on UAE progress by some students of Al Hikma School, let alone a number of local songs and dances by a traditional Emirati band.
Dr. Nahla Al Qasimi, Dean, Deanship of Student Services, said the theme of the National Day celebrations this year ‘Forefathers’ Legacy’, reflects the wisdom of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who has laid the foundations of this prosperous nation on creativity and innovation that invaded the space this year.”
The celebrations also echo the diversity, safety, security, stability and tolerance of the UAE, she added. “These noble principles are fervently adopted by Ajman University.”
