Ajman University (AU), in recognition of scientific research, has honored brilliant students of all majors over its nine colleges for the academic year 2018-2019.
The honoring ceremony is part of the 2nd Scientific Research Forum held at the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions, Ajman University.
The much-awaited function, assumed by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research, AU, shed light on students’ outstanding research and skills handling the difficulties they met up with under the aegis of their supervisors.
Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor, Dr. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Kamran Arshad, Dean of Graduate Studies and Research were present.
The event also saw the presence of the deans of the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Architecture and Design, Engineering and Information Technology, Law, Mass Communication, Humanities and Science, and Business Administration.
The 20 winning group and individual research, mostly with hands-on results valuable for the community, reflected the scientific awareness of AU students and professors.
These research projects focused on an array of issues mostly on the use of technology for medical, engineering, informational and legal purposes, such as the one featuring the use of virtual reality in education.
Winning research papers featured the use of smart glasses for Alzheimer's patients, College of Engineering and Information Technology, the displays and motivations of conspicuous consumption among UAE youth, and work empowerment of the determined in Emirate of Fujairah.
A field study on a sample of Fujairah Police Stations staff re the impact of artificial intelligence-based learning systems in the development of problem-solving skills in mathematics, College of Humanities and Science, was honored.
A study on the relationship between the performance of companies and their social responsibilities, College of Business, a comparative study on customers’ satisfaction with electronic banking transactions in the UAE, Iran and Jordan, and Students' acceptance of AU educational electronic equipment were some of the award-winning research.
A research on the assessment of pharmaceutical quality control of metformin hydrochloride tablets, including the products recently withdrawn from the UAE market, and another research on the specificity of medicine and patients’ health in the Internet age, all from the College of Pharmacy, were honored as well.
A research from the College of Law on banks’ responsibility for electronic money transfers, a research from the College of Mass Communication on smart protection of customers in the era of advanced technologies were given accolades.
The Scientific Research Forum is one of a series of initiatives assumed by Ajman University to support its promising researchers and invest in the scientific expertise of College faculty in various disciplines.
