Ajman University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Joins a Collaborative Ground-breaking AI in Education Research Project Funded by Dubai Future Foundation

Ajman University (AU) is proud to announce its participation in a prestigious research project, "Using AI Simulation for Building Trust (Yathiqu) in AI and AI Literacy," which has been awarded funding from the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF). This groundbreaking initiative, secured through a competitive grant process, underscores AU’s commitment to advancing research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and education.

The Yathiqu project, a multi-institutional collaboration led by the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), aims to explore the role of AI-driven simulations in fostering trust and improving AI literacy in education. The project aligns with AU’s strategic vision of integrating AI and digital transformation into higher education, reinforcing its position as a key research partner in emerging educational technologies.

As part of this initiative, Professor Nadir Kheir (College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences-COPHS), who serves as AU’s Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on the project, will contribute to key research activities, including focus groups and scenario-building exercises that will enhance the study’s impact on AI-driven learning methodologies.

"This research project represents a unique opportunity for Ajman University to collaborate on cutting-edge AI solutions that will shape the future of education," said Professor Abeer Alghananeem, Dean of COPHS. "It highlights AU’s growing role in global AI research and our commitment to innovation in higher education."

The three-year project (March 2025 – March 2028) will produce significant insights into the ethical and practical applications of AI in learning environments, supporting both students and educators in navigating the digital age with greater confidence and understanding.

We congratulates Professor Nadir Kheir and all collaborating institutions on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to contributing to the success of the Yathiqu project.
