A research team from The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has been awarded First Place in the Display category at the prestigious DUPHAT 2025 Student Poster Competition for their study, “The Role of Gut Microbiota in Enhancing Colorectal Cancer Immunotherapy Efficacy.” The team consisted of the students Hana Mohamed, Doaa Al-Alimi, Maryam Hamed and Laith Badwan and supervised by Professor Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
The research explores the intricate relationship between gut microbiota and cancer treatment outcomes, shedding light on how gut bacteria influence the immune system’s response to colorectal cancer immunotherapy.
