Educational session on board certification and residency training for MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Students

On April 29th, 2024, Dr. Sanah Hasan, the Coordinator of the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Program at Ajman University, organized an educational session on board certification and residency training for students in the MSc program. Led by Dr. Saeed Hussein, the session provided crucial insights for students aiming to advance their careers through specialized training and certification.

Board certification and residency training are essential milestones for healthcare professionals, including clinical pharmacists. These processes are integral in enhancing patient care and are highly regarded in the healthcare field, as emphasized by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS), the premier post-licensure pharmacist certification agency. The BPS promotes the recognition and value of specialized training, knowledge, and skills in pharmacy, which aligns with the goals of this session.

Dr. Saeed Hussein detailed the demanding nature of board certification and the hands-on learning opportunities provided through residency training in various healthcare settings. These experiences are crucial for professional growth and success in navigating the certification requirements.

The insights shared during this session are intended to guide Ajman University’s MSc clinical pharmacy students, helping them to make informed decisions about their future career paths. This educational initiative not only enhances their current academic experiences but also helps set the groundwork for successful and impactful careers in pharmacy.
