The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) participated in the 29th Dubai International Pharmaceutical & Technologies Conference & Exhibition held in Dubai from 9 – 11 January 2024 at the World Trade Center. Final year BPharm students under the faculty supervision presented their research and thesis projects through an active engagement in poster presentations. The students’ research focused on medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutics. A collaborative work of AU faculty with Gulf Medical University-College of Pharmacy faculty secured second position in “Best Quality Student Poster category”.
Two college instructors additionally took part in professional poster presentations. A pilot study to determine the viability of a pharmacovigilance educational module for hospital pharmacists in the United Arab Emirates was presented by Dr. Sawsan Shanableh under the title "Assessment of An Educational Module on Pharmacovigilance Among Hospital Pharmacists in United Arab Emirates (A Pilot Study)". Dr. Alaa Farajallah gave a presentation titled "Knowledge, Perception, Practices, and Barriers Towards Medication Reconciliation Process by Hospital Pharmacists in the United Arab Emirates: A Nationwide survey." In this talk, she discussed the findings of a cross-sectional survey that was conducted to evaluate hospital pharmacists' perceptions and levels of knowledge regarding medication reconciliation in the UAE.
