Faculty and Master's students from Ajman University's Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, guided by Dr. Sanah Hasan, attended the first Middle East Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy Forum (ME-CVPT) held on October 14, 2023, at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai. The main purpose of this conference was to discuss the latest advancements and publications in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy and to implement guidelines for directed medical therapy in the region. Furthermore, the conference aimed to enhance collaboration between regional and global clinical cardio-pharmacist specialists.
Distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Sanah Hasan, Dr. Subish Palaian, and Dr. Ahmed Gaili, commended the comprehensive discussions. They found the forum an exceptional venue for networking, sharing knowledge, and learning about the latest guidelines. The event was not only paramount for academic growth but also for building professional relationships. One faculty member expressed, “Watching our students grow and interact with experts at ME-CVPT was truly rewarding.”
Dr Sanah moderated a session titled: Conducting Research in Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy whereby three prominent faculty members from Colleges of Pharmacy and medicine in the UAE have contributed with three lectures including: 1) Evaluation of the impact of Point-of-Care Platelet Reactivity and Pharmacogenomic Testing for antiplatelet resistance. 2) Implementation of Pharmacogenomics: The Case for Cardiovascular Diseases in the United Arab Emirates. 3) Clinical Research in Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy.
