A workshop was conducted by the COPHS, for MSc in Clinical Pharmacy students on Sunday, January 29. 2023. The College hosted Dr Abby Kahaleh, Associate Editor on the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (USA) and Pharmacy Education at the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) to moderate the workshop with the objectives to introduce MSc in Clinical Pharmacy students and other participants to the world of manuscript preparation, peer review and tips to successful publishing in reputable journals. The workshop covered the following areas:
Peer-reviewed publications: what type and process of peer review
Formulating a manuscript: anatomy of a manuscript, and manuscript preparation
How to choose a research project which will successfully be completed
Tips for publishing in reputable journals.
How to improve scientific writing (especially in non-English language speakers)
Twenty five Students and five faculty members participated in the workshop. All participants received a certificate of participation in the workshop.
Workshops like this one will be conducted more often in the future, to help equip students with writing and presenting skills needed during their study and on their future jobs.
