Students in the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Program at Ajman University paid a visit to the simulation center at the division of Medication Management Solutions at the Becton, Dickinson and Company, in Dubai on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 9:00-1:00pm.
They were accompanied by Dr Sanah Hasan, Coordinator of the program and Dr Saeed Hussein, Chairperson of the Advisory Board at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. During the visit, students were introduced to various simulation products and services that may be used in health care and pharmacy to help deliver better patient care.
These included Phlebotomy and blood/needle handling products, Procedure room and automated intravenous infusion pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing machines, Laboratory and clean room preparations for cytotoxic medications and Total Parenteral Therapy (TPN), and Outpatient dispensing pharmacy automation.
The students listened to a short introduction about automation and technology in health care, took a tour of the facility, asked questions and completed a course assignment related to automation.
