Competency Framework assessment within the BPharm Program Workshop

A Workshop titled: “Competency Framework assessment within the BPharm Program” was conducted on Thursday October 27, 2022 from 3:30-5:30pm in Hall No. 4 – female to have a plan for assessing program competencies required by CAA and to be implemented starting this Fall 2022 semester. This invitation involved all College faculty, Lecturers, Instructors, Assistant instructors and Teaching Assistants.

A Discussion of the Competency Framework Assessment in the BPharm program was planned by an Ad Hoc committee consisting of Dr Sanah Hasan, Dr Subish Palaian, Dr Sai Boddu and Dr Yassin Alhariri. The Ad Hoc Committee had previously mapped the competency domain/competencies to the Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) of the BPharm program. Each course Instructor was advised to identify an assessment/assignment already in place within the course that assess the competency, and if not available needed to design one. Once all assessments/assignments have been identified, the Committee will review and establish levels for assessments and assignments to meet the competency. The need to list competencies for each course and include in course syllabi was discussed including which area of the course syllabus will host the new competency information. An e-portfolio was explored and discussed for documentation. Communication with Office of Information Technology is underway to design an e-portfolio system.
