Dr. Moawia M. Al-Tabakha has served as an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Ajman University (AU), UAE, since 2016. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wales, UK (2000), with a thesis on "Formulation of Dry Powders for Inhalation." With over 24 years of academic experience across various universities in the Middle East, Dr. Al-Tabakha has chaired numerous college committees, including those for quality assurance, research, postgraduate studies, examinations, training, and curriculum. He has held leadership roles, including Deputy Dean, Acting Dean, General Supervisor of the University Library, and coordinator for the Pharmaceutical Sciences Unit, International Accreditation, and the BPharm program. He is currently the Head of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department and the ACPE International Certification Steering Committee at AU. Dr. Al-Tabakha has extensive expertise in accreditation standards and quality assurance, having led self-study reports for national and international accreditations. He serves on the editorial board of several peer-reviewed journals and has published extensively in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Controlled Release (Impact Factor 7.633). His research has earned recognition, including awards at DUPHAT 2012 and 2013, and the "Distinguished Researcher" title in 2014. Dr. Al-Tabakha has 49 Scopus-indexed publications with an h-index of 14 and has been recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide by Stanford University (2022-2024). He has also provided professional consulting services to leading firms such as West Pharmaceutical Services, Reperio-Tech LLC, The Boston Consulting Group, and McKinsey & Company.
