Dr. El-Shaimaa A. Arafa is a Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Ajman University, Ajman Campus, where she has been a faculty member since August 2014. She earned her Ph.D. from Cairo University, Egypt, through a joint program with The Ohio State University, USA, in May 2009. Her career seamlessly integrates research and academia. Dr. Arafa completed a research fellowship at The Ohio State University from June 2009 to December 2010. She has also served as an assistant and associate professor at various universities in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
