Ala’a Al Amiry holds an MS degree in Emergency Health Services (EHS) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, and a second Master's degree (MBA with merit) from Strathclyde Business School, UK. In 2023, she was honored with the "Best Teacher Award" at Ajman University (AU) and recently became a certified contributor to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) international project. With 19 years of experience across both the healthcare (as a critical care nurse and paramedic) and academic (as a lecturer) sectors, Al Amiry has worked in various countries, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the USA, and the UAE. She has gained significant expertise in improving work environments and developing essential soft skills for excellence. Prior to AU’s departmental restructuring, she served as the Head of the Unit of General Studies (UGS) and co-chaired a strategic committee at the university, among other responsibilities. Al Amiry is also a certified instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA), having been certified since 2021. She provides BLS training to healthcare providers through Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital and the AHA International Training Center (ITC) in Umm Al Quwain. As a globally recognized not-for-profit organization, the AHA mandates the BLS course for all healthcare workers to be completed every two years.
