This course is designed to introduce the students to a foundational microbiology course that explores the basics of microbiology and its relevance to nursing practice. Students learn about microorganisms, their characteristics, and their impact on human health. Topics covered include infection control, transmission prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases. The course also covers laboratory techniques for detecting and diagnosing infections, as well as immunology and infection prevention practices.
