This course is designed to introduce the students a comprehensive understanding of the underlying mechanisms and changes that occur in the body during disease states, the concepts of causes and the basic mechanisms of diseases such as cell injury and cell death, inflammation, necrosis, and neoplasia. The students then learn to apply the concepts of pathophysiological process on various diseases in each organ system. Through this course, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the underlying mechanisms and changes that occur in the body during disease states.
