Flag Day at Ajman University
Responding to the national initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in which he called upon all UAE citizens, residents and government departments to hoist the UAE flag on the same day at the same time across all the seven Emirates, Ajman University has hoisted the beloved UAE flag today on campus.
Ajman University family comprising of staff and faculty members celebrated this day amongst patriotic songs and national anthem that resonated across the campus. Dr. Khalid Al Khaja, Acting Chancellor of Ajman University raised the flag and also present were Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Development and Communication along with College Deans, Faculty, staff and students.
Dr. Khalid Al Khaja expressed his pride at the Ajman university community celebrating this national event with patriotic zeal. He explained that this event renews the sense of belonging and instills the love for the national symbol of pride the flag. The culture and values of this country are closely associated and this day further enhances the pride for this country founded by Late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Dr. Al Khaja further elucidated that "under the wise leaders of UAE the people will flourish, and the UAE Flag will remain high in our sky and deeply rooted in our heart. We will hoist this flag with great pride in all regional and international events.”
He also extended his best expressions of loyalty and felicitations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and to all Emirates rulers.
Ajman University students, staff and faculty came outdoors to witness a massive celebration of the Flag Day. The turnout was enthusiastic and patriotically charged while chanting the national anthem and waving national flags.
Preluding to this day the entire week was a buzz with activities around the Emirates of Ajman. The female student council and student affairs department visited a kids nursery and distributed flags and UAE map, the children were enthralled by the local stories told by the team.
The students also distributed UAE flags across the emirates on two consecutive days. The main point of distributions were the traffic intersections in Ajman.
