Students from the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities at Ajman University of Science & Technology visited lately the National Media Council in Abu Dhabi. They were accompanied by Faculty members and media committee, headed by Dr. Mariam Al Ajmi and Dr. Amal Badr.
AUST students were warmly welcomed by His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Al Abed, Head of the National Media Council, who gave them an insightful explanation about the council’s history and the functions of its various departments, the role played by the editorial and media coverage team in conjunction with the Emirates News Agency, and the Department of External Communication and the Photography Unit.
Mr. Al Abed also praised the level of freedom the local press and media enjoy and the latest trends that dictate the general policy of media coverage. He also expressed the interest of the National Media Council in building a fruitful and constructive cooperation with AUST College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities in the context of honing the experience and skills of AUST students in this field.
