Ajman University Organizes Training Courses for its Human Capital

Ajman University of Science & Technology strongly believes that the human capital of its organization is of paramount importance. Aligned with this belief it spares no efforts to ensure the academic and administrative staff are equipped with the latest knowledge and expertise. The various disciplines in which all employees function in are evolving rapidly and to be abreast of the changes is very necessary, the training courses organized by the Human Resource Department are tailored to serve this purpose.

The academic year 2014-2015 was dotted with 60 training courses, benefitting more than 500 employees; these regular courses were for all the employees of Ajman University of Science and Technology. The nature of the course varied for each individual, based upon the recommendations of the deans, managers and their self-assessments. Some of the key academic training programs included; Excellence, Quality and Accreditation in Higher Education, International Accreditation in Higher Education, Specialized Moodle E-learning and train the trainer amongst others. Whilst the administrative training programs to develop the soft skills of the staff included; Excellence in Customer Service, Total Quality Management, Drafting and Designing Work Development Plans, Project Management amongst others.

To enhance the technical knowledge of the employees some course and training programs included Diploma in Digital Marketing, Diploma in Human Resource Practice, Certificate in Cost Control and Management, Benchmarking for Best Practices in Higher Education, Corporate Governance and various others, which imparted much needed advantages to the trainees.

Khalid Al-Awadhi, Head of Talent Management Section at the Human Resource Department of Ajman University stated, "The training programs organized by the Talent Management Division have had a positive effect on the academic and administrative staff at the university and it has immensely contributed to honing their skillsets as reflected on job performance. Our keenness to develop and train the employees stems from the vision of Ajman University to enhance the potentials and skills of its employees”.

Human Resource Department relentlessly strives to support the vision and mission of Ajman University because a skilled employee will be able to carry out their duties in a more effective and efficient fashion. A competent employee is encouraged and motivated to achieve higher, their output in their domain means the success of the department or College.
