Ajman University Conducts a Mock Evacuation Drill

The Office of Sustainability at Ajman University conducted a mock evacuation drill at the student sports complex on campus. The exercise included students, visitors, administrative staff, and faculty members. This drill was carried out in response to the hypothetical occurrence of accidents and emergencies within the building. Its aim was to test the procedures for dealing with incidents and to assess their effectiveness in responding to the university's emergency and evacuation plan, ensuring the safety of the students. The exercise yielded exceptional results in the evacuation process.

Ajman University always strives to promote a culture of awareness and education regarding security and safety within the campus. It aims to elevate the understanding of safety procedures and risk management through mock evacuation drills. It also ensures the well-being of students and faculty members by devising specific plans and programs for emergency response on campus. These plans are diligently implemented to ensure the highest level of preparedness, contributing to enhancing the response during emergency situations.

As part of the university's highlighted efforts, it actively organizes informative lectures and workshops preceding the evacuation drills. These sessions focus on how to execute mass evacuation procedures, recognizing different types of fires, identifying fire-triggering factors, as well as becoming familiar with various fire extinguishers and safety equipment within the campus buildings. Additionally, they cover how to effectively handle these tools. The practical training is provided to students and staff on campus regarding the hands-on usage of this equipment.
