Coordination meeting between Ajman Free Zone and Ajman University establishes business incubators for graduates’ start-ups

An official delegation from the Ajman Free Zone (AFZ), headed by Mr. Faisal Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, visited Ajman University. The delegation was received by with Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor as well as other University representatives, to discuss and explore opportunities to establish business incubators that benefit Ajman University graduates.

The AFZ delegation included Mr. Faisal Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, Ms. Mariam Al Mazrouei, Marketing and Sales Coordinator, Ms. Rafeeah Al Suwaidi, Communication and Public Relations Director - Acting, and Ms. Nila Al Muhairi, Director of Sales. The University delegation included Dr. Khalid Al Saleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Chuloh Jung, Director of the Ajman University Innovation Center, Mr. Hussam Steitieh, Manager of Alumni Office, and Engineer Mohammed Baloolah, Deputy Director, Ajman University Innovation Center.

Mr. Faisal Al Nuaimi began the meeting with a presentation that described AFZ's future investment promotional strategy and how it ensures a business-friendly environment for both innovative entrepreneurs and investors in the emirate. His presentation highlighted AFZ’s portfolio of available services and facilities to attract investors from local and international markets.

Members of the AFZ delegation presented a proposal to Ajman University graduates, offering incentives and integrated services designed to help them jumpstart their careers. The initiative also suggests the provision of professional licenses that allow graduates to work across various sectors within the Ajman Free Zone.  The agreement includes dedicated office space where graduates can conceive and bring their ideas to fruition within a supportive business environment.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to organize regular tours to Ajman Free Zone where students can gain first-hand knowledge of the Zone’s business offerings and view its innovative facilities. The agreement also allows students, majoring in interior design, a unique opportunity to contribute to the creative redesign of the facilities and office spaces that are dedicated for the graduates’ use.

He added, "Today’s agreement is in line with Ajman Free Zone's strategy to support young graduates in their efforts to achieve their goal and help them begin their careers by providing the necessary facilities, services, and office space, at competitive prices, to those seeking to obtain commercial or professional licenses. At the same time, we are delighted to cooperate with Ajman University on providing counseling, as well as management and marketing advice to these young segments of society and help them to develop their businesses in a professional, sustainable manner.”

For his part, Dr. Karim Seghir said: "I am honored to congratulate Ajman Free Zone and our University on the 30th anniversary of their establishment this year, during which they celebrate the successes and achievements they have made over the past three decades.”

He stressed that cooperation with AFZ aligns with the university's overall strategy to create strong relations with public and private sector institutions.

He added that cooperation with AFZ will strengthen and support the main objective behind the establishment of the Ajman University Innovation Center, which is committed to transforming innovative technologies and ideas into effective and viable start-ups. “This will contribute,” he continued to say, “to economic development, job creation and youth empowerment. Such an objective will not be achieved without strong and effective strategic partnerships, such as that with Ajman Free Zone," he maintained.

Dr. Karim affirmed that the University's ambitious strategy is supported by the achievements it has made over the past period, its strengths across various academic spheres, and its significant geographic location.

“The University aspires to be globally recognized as a leading Arab university in the areas of scientific research, responsible outreach and its engagement in local community outreach.  While pursuing this objective, the University strives to build sustainable, mutually beneficial relationships with the public and private sectors," Dr. Karim said in conclusion.

Commenting on the visit, Mr. Faisal Al Nuaimi said: "We extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Karim Seghir and his team at Ajman University for their warm hospitality and cooperation with us to serve the young people of Ajman. We appreciate the relentless efforts this pioneering academic institution has made over the past 30 years, graduating generations of young, educated, ambitious, and dedicated youth who seek the higher good of our beloved country."
