Within the activities planned as part of the Year of Giving Initiatives undertaken by the Emirates of Ajman and Ajman University, the Student Guidance office at the Deanship of Student Affairs in association with the Social and Cultural Development Association in Ajman; organized an insightful lecture for the students and public.
Dr. Rasha Abdullah, Student Guidance Officer, delivered the lecture entitled "Stress Management Skills".
The workshop included information about the concept of psychological stress, nervousness and pressure. It outlined the importance of mental health and how to achieve and maintain it throughout the stressful times. She also identified the types of psychological stress, which is divided into severe pressure and pressure signals.
Dr. Rasha presented case studies to identify and indicate the symptoms and sources of pressure and means to deal with them. She detailed the differences between social, familial and work pressures.
In the end she stressed on the the relationship between the way of thinking of an individual and the suffering of the pressure in his life. The lecture ended with an interactive question and answer session amongst the participants.
