Under the slogan “Science for the good of our country”, and during the occasion of the year of giving 2017, Ajman University - Fujairah campus organized the Ninth Scientific Conference for Students’ Research.
156 students are participating in the conference presenting 81 research projects. 55 female students and 26 male students will presented their researches and projects at the conference.
The first day activities, included presentation of female research projects. The College of Dentistry was the top college in the number of projects presented, followed by the College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, College of Information Technology, College of Education and Basic Sciences, College of Information and Humanities, College Business Administration, and College of Law.
Prof. Ali Abu Al-Noor, Director of Ajman University - Fujairah Campus, toured the research projects posted. He conducted in-depth discussions with the students participating in the conference. Discussion included questions about the methods of conducting research, the measurements, benefits that can be achieved from these research projects based on the results deduced, in addition to the positive outcomes of these research project on the Emirates of Fujairah and UAE society.
Each of the research project submitted is assessed based on how it was prepared, methods of study, conclusions and recommendations, references used, in addition to student’s ability to answer the questions of the referees. The referees are chosen from the faculty members, from the same college or from another college, who are not involved in supervision on any of the research projects presented to the conference. Each research project is evaluated by two to three faculty members, each evaluator uses a standardized and separate evaluation form, which he fills and signs after discussion with the researcher(s) and assessment of the poster presentation. The research evaluation forms for each college are then placed in closed envelops and delivered to the Sub-Council for Graduate Research and Research (SCGSR) - Fujairah Campus.
One the second day of the conference, 51 students presented 26 research projects submitted by male students. The results of the evaluation are submitted to the SCGSR in order to calculate the average score of each research project separately, and determine the first place winner for each college, in which more than one research project was presented. Then, the first place winner research project for each college is determined.
Certificates are prepared for all students participating in the conference, faculty members supervising research projects and referees. The first place winner students will be honored in a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2017, at the Conference Hall - Fujairah Campus.
