Ajman University kicked off its celebrations of International Happiness Day in true AU style. All staff and faculty members joined Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor at the football pitch early in the morning to spread cheers. They wished each other over coffee and enjoyed the alfresco ambiance before resuming the daily duties.
Khalid Al Ameri, a renowned motivational speaker who inspires and encourages youth towards a positive outlook on life and an active lifestyle enthralled the AU members and public from the Emirates of Ajman. In an event held in Sheikh Zayed Centre for Exhibition and Conferences, the audience were vowed by the captivating humor and real-life stories that encouraged students to make the most of life at University.
Ajman Municipality’s kind gesture on this day was to ensure AU community had an un-ending supply of caffeine. In collaboration with Gerard Café, they distributed free coffee to students, staff and faculty members alike.
The students were treated to a special hour of happiness, wherein volunteering students and staff members went around the campus distributing smiley faces, chocolates and flowers.
College of Law celebrated International Happiness Day and Mothers’ Day by inviting the students and staff members who are mothers. They were honored for their noble contribution to society and raising a generation that will effectively serve the community. This promoted goodwill and appreciated the mothers efforts.
"Others Happiness is Your Happiness" was an initiative by female hostel who encouraged students to exchange gifts and in a unique gesture of spreading happiness the students were treeated to no lateness warnings by the hostel managment. The hostel management celebrated with the female students at the residence.
A lecture on “Key to Happiness” was delivered by Dr. Galla Mohammad hailing from Tarek Rehabilitation and Autism Centre on campus for students. The encouraging outlined the keys of happiness and how to keep oneself motivated.
Fujairah Campus celebrated the day with a line up activities for students and staff. The festivity featured a public lecture entitled “Happiness and Self-Esteem” delivered by Dr. Rasha Abdellah, faculty member of the College of Mass Communication & Humanities.
