Ajman University's Thamer Fund for Educational Solidarity honored Dar Al Ber Association for their continuous support and generosity towards AU students who face financial challenges.
The honoring ceremony was attended by H.E. Abdallah al Mazroui, Chairman of Thamer Fund, and Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Advancement and Communication, from Ajman University; and Mr. Hisham Ahmed Zahrani, Vice-Director for Charitable Projects, and Mr. Khalid Aziz Al-Tamimi, media advisor, from Dar Al Ber Association.
Mr. Abdallah al Mazroui commended the social and humanitarian roles played by Dar Al Ber, and thanked them for their generous support to Thamer Fund since its inception. He also extended his deepest appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, for his generous and unremitting support to the Fund and to AU students.
"Thamer Fund aims to help students whose education at AU has been or may be interrupted due to financial challenges, which are beyond their control," Mr. Al Mazroui said. Since 2013, Thamer Fund has provided financial aid to 523 students out of 967 applications, with a total of AED 5.5 million.
Mr. Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Dar Al Ber Executive Director, said that Dar Al Ber is motivated by the policy and directives of the UAE government, and is fully committed to its social responsibility role and to making happiness a tangible reality for the people of the UAE.
"We believe that education is a key factor for economic growth and sustainable development. Education can re-shape whole countries and communities. By supporing education institutions and making students a key beneficiary from our aid programs, we hope to play our fair part in building a more prosperous and sustainable UAE.” Mr. Al Falasi stated.
