In the framework of community initiatives undertaken as part of the Year of Giving 2017 and as an implementation of the Declaration of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, May Allah protect him, to dedicate 2017 as the Year of Giving. The College of Law at AU launched a "legal culture - a community initiative of necessity"
Aligned with this initiative the College organized a field visit for the college students to Baraha Hospital, Dubai. The trip was for the students enrolled in the intellectual property course. The team delivered a vital lecture entailing the details about the intellectual property rights such as diverse: patent, patent varieties, trademark, copyright and related rights.
It was the definition of these rights and how to protect them in the UAE, which must be registered with the Ministry of Economy through the related offices.
The students highlighted the protection period prescribed by law and how to write off or cancel these rights. The visiting delegates distributed brochures in 3 different languages; Arabic, English and Hindi.
The lecture was attended by the Director of Baraha hospital and a large number of employees, Doctors, nurses and administrative staff. The event ended with an insightful question answer session on the topic of intellectual property.
