An interactive workshop entitled "Smart Money" was held by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank in cooperation with the Community Service Unit at Ajman University.
Mr. Ahmad Suleman, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Representative presented the workshop to 33 students from various Colleges at AU. It dealt with the ways of saving money that students can adopt by using their funds optimally and by spending on what they actually need, not want.
The workshop aims to educate young people on how to manage their income and keep a steady financial plan throughout their life. One of the tips that was given is “Start saving for your retirement from your first salary”.
Mr. Suleman also elaborated on the situations and crisis that may arise from poor management of the resources. The students had an interesting question and answer session wherein they put forth their concerns regarding their financial matters. The students were taught on how to make a budget sheet that could organize their financial income to distribute it to the shares it should go to.
International Student Cards were distributed by ADIB to students. The cards run on Sharia’ rules and have no profit. The students can use these cards to get offers in over 146 countries around the world.
This workshop comes within the folds of the Community Service Unit’s “Fast Forward” program, which aims to improve the overall personality of the students before they graduate from the college life. The program aims to improve the financial knowledge and acumen of the young students while teaching them how to manage their finances smartly.
