AU Lecturer Presents Study on Sleep Disorder at Conference

Dr. Zelal Jaber, faculty member at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences presented an insightful lecture at the 9th Gulf Sleep Medicine Conference held in Dubai. She highlighted the need for new approaches in the treatment of asthma and obstructive sleep apnea (a sleep disorder).

As part of her PhD, Dr. Zelal has extensively studied various groups of patients in UAE and UK who have varying degree of sleep disorder and respiratory tract disorder. She highlighted the importance of enhancing the conventional treatments to improve the quality of life for asthmatic patients whose sleep patterns fluctuate. She drew attention to the new methodologies of asthma prevention and treatment during her lecture.

The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of pharmaceutical experts, companies and medical practitioners from UAE and GCC. It provided a scientific platform for the researchers to present their studies and exchange views and expertise with local and international bodies.
