As part of its program of encouraging faculty, staff and students to give back to the community, Ajman University held a Design Summer School at Gems Westminster School, Sharjah. The enticing program attracted 34 male and female students from grade 8 to grade 11.
The course that spanned over 5 exciting days included workshops, lectures and presentation that gave the students a feel for the profession of Interior Designers. Seven faculty and staff members from the Department of Interior Design and Architecture in the College of Engineering at AU ensured the program was engaging and informative for the participants who enjoyed the hands on approach of design and redesigning of used furniture items.
Jury was invited to evaluate and award the best redesigning project for a chair. The participants expressed their utmost appreciation and satisfaction at acquiring a new set of skill whilst enjoying the explorative journey of a profession.
AU has a seasoned faculty and staff at the College of Engineering that houses the Departments of Interior Design and Department of Architecture amongst others like Bio-Medical Engineering. The alumni from these colleges are holding prestigious positions across the world in their professional lives.
