Dr. Nahla Al Qasimi, Dean of Student Affairs at Ajman University headed a delegation from the University that visited the Indian Consulate in Dubai. The delegation included Ms. Rula Talal, Director, Office of External Relation; Mr. Salim Derbas, Supervisor Student activity and media coordinator at the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Her Excellency Deepa Jane, Consul General and Mr. Vebha Kant Sharma, Vice - Consul, warmly welcomed the University delegation. They expressed keen interest in strengthening the historical ties between UAE and India. AU currently has a large student strength hailing from India, the Consulate general and members of the Indian Consulate were briefed about the Colleges and programs they are studying in.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various avenues of mutual interest and the Indian Cultural Day at AU was amongst them. The meeting also streamlined impactful support system that is built on effective communication between the academia and Indian government bodies to ensure students are never away from home. The exchange of experience and expertise between the Universities based in India and AU will foster a better educational experience for all the students.
The Office of External Relations stressed on the need to open communications with the diplomatic bodies to enrich the cultural and academic ties of the 76 nationalities of students at AU.
