During the Year of Giving year that is announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Student Affairs Office at Ajman University organized a students’ year of Giving Retreat in cooperation with Ajman Youth Center in the presence of representatives of many charitable and youth Institutions in UAE. They included the Emirates Red Crescent, Ajman and the Center for Care and Rehabilitation, Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Foundation, Elder Care Home, Ajman youth center, and Ajman Club for Disabled.
Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed the guests and thanked the participating students and the organizing team for this initiative.
She stressed the need to come up with unconventional ideas and initiatives through the brainstorming retreat session, which involved 40 students distributed into 10 teams, where they competed to provide the best initiative for the year of giving.
The aim of the Student retreat is to encourage student initiatives and stimulate the youth energies for creative and innovative initiatives and to communicate with the official bodies that adopt these initiatives.
The sessions included various motivational activities and competitions among the student teams.
At the end of the sessions, Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi honored the official institutions participating in this event. The recommendations that emerged from the discussions of the student teams were discussed and will be implemented as and when needed.
