Ajman University Honors Contributors to the Graduates Fund

Office of Development at AU launched a Graduation Fund in May 2017, with the purpose of raising funds so as to release the certificates of students who have completed the graduation requirements yet their certificates are not handed over due to financial dues. This fund alleviates the burden that encumbers the graduates to take their degrees and go out into the professional world.

Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor appreciated the donors nobles contribution to the fund, “the relentless support of the esteemed institutions has ensured that around 300 graduates have received their degrees. The best investment is in humans and what is much better than investing in someone’s future”.

He pointed out that institutions and individuals contributed around AED 4 Million since the Fund’s inception. He thanks representatives of Dubai Islamic Bank, Ajman Bank, Noor Bank, Ajman Chamber of Commerce, Al Maktoum Foundation, Human Appeal International and the anonymous donors whose support had assisted the graduates and continues to do so for the future.

Dr. Farah Sarraj, Director, Office of Development at AU explained, “AU is keen on strengthening its role in the community development and it encourages its graduates to be positive contributors to the society. Their transition from university to workplace is our achievement, therefore we have also launched a similar initiative that encourages the community to be an active part in the students’ transition. The Graduates Fund will benefit from “A Tree to Set Them Free” initiative, it aims at selling trees to the contributors, who may endow it on behalf of their loved ones, the funds will go towards setting the students free of its debt.
