Ruler of Ajman Chairs Ajman University’s Board of Trustees Meeting

Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, Ajman University’s Board of Trustees convened on October 1, in AUST campus to review several plans and projects submitted by the University administration.

His Highness Ajman Ruler initiated the proceedings by welcoming the trustees and praising their efforts in developing AUST vision and mission. He also congratulated them on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

“The tremendous achievements of the University in the last 26 years can be attributed to the comprehensive vision of our wise leaders who keep encouraging and fostering higher education initiatives and supporting the younger generations.” His Highness said, adding “UAE has become the focal point of sustainable development and modern society which is harmoniously going forth scientifically, culturally, socially and economically.”

Osama Saeed Salman, AUST Vice-President and Trustee, praised the role and support extended by His Highness Ajman Ruler to Ajman University since its inception. He then gave a brief presentation on the main projects implemented in 2013-2014, which include the increment of salaries and benefits for faculty and staff, a new Emiratization plan as well as new career development program and performance-based evaluation system. The new projects also include a luxurious residence for female students, a sports complex, and a 6-storey building set as an endowment for Thamer Salman Fund for Educational Solidarity.

The development plan for the next three years was also presented, which propose the introduction of a number of diplomas, bachelors’, master’s and PhD programs. Mr. Osama also briefed the Board on registration for 2014-2015, wherein 1600 new students enrolled, and presented AUST Science Park, the new excellence and research center to be constructed and operated by Ajman University.

AUST Board of Trustees approved the 2014-2015 budget and the list of graduates of 2013-2014 which include 1372 graduates.

AUST Board of Trustees is chaired by H.H. Ajman Ruler and composed of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Raqbani, H.E.  Abdullah bin Humaid Al Mazrouei, Dr. Ali bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Mr.  Osama Saeed Salman, Dr. Abdul Rahman Sultan Al Sharhan, Dr. Saeed Abdullah Hareb, Eng. Khalid Saeed Salman and H.E. Salim bin Ahmed Al Nuaimi.
