His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, dispatched on Monday December 6, 2014 a delegation from Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) to convey His Highness’s thanks and heartfelt acknowledgments to Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Bahrain’s Minister of Education, for his ministry’s constant support to the university throughout its 25 years of development and success.
The delegation relayed H.H. Ajman Ruler’s satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the UAE, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Bahrain, under the sensible leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Monarch of Bahrain. In his message to the Bahraini Minister, H.H. Sheikh Al Nuaimi stressed that Bahraini students are welcome in Ajman and commended the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Abu Dhabi for cooperating with Ajman University of Science and Technology by placing Bahraini students in quality programs and preparing them to meet the need of economic and social development of their home country and the GCC.
The delegation also presented the significant events and achievements that marked AUST’s 25 years and allowed it to become a beacon of knowledge in the region, benefiting 10.300 students in two campuses, Ajman and Fujairah, and boasting over 26.200 graduates in various fields, ranging from education and sociology to dentistry, engineering and pharmacy.
On his part, the Bahraini Minister asked the delegation to convey his acknowledgments and esteem to His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashed Al Nuaimi for the wise initiative of establishing a university that caters to the needs of the region. He affirmed the Bahrain Ministry’s deep trust in Ajman University because of the patronage of His Highness the Ruler of Ajman. The meeting was attended by Dr. Rashed Al-Nowihedh, Undersecretary of the Bahraini Ministry of Higher Education.
The delegation held a second meeting with Prof. Riyad Hamza, the Secretary General of the Higher Education Council in the Ministry of Education and discussed the accreditation system in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Mr. Osama thanked Prof. Hamza for the continuing trust in Ajman University of Science and Technology, emphasizing that the university will review all the curriculum of the existing programs and is undertaking a study to offer new programs which will meet the need of the GCC labor market.
It is worth noting that Ajman University of Science and Technology was established in 1988, with more than 10300 enrolled students and 26200 graduates from 44 accredited academic programs.
