AUST Delegate to bolster academic ties between Ajman & Qatar

Ajman University’s delegation headed by Mr. Osama Saeed Salman, CEO & Vice-President of AUST paid a visit to H.E. Dr. Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi, Qatar Minister of Education and Higher Education, and Secretary General of the Qatar Supreme Education Council to deliver a letter of acknowledgement sent by H.H Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.

AUST delegation consisted of Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Assistant to the University President for External Relations, Mr. Abdullah Salman, Assistant to the University Vice President, and Dr. Abdulhaq Basheer Al Nuaimi, Director of Community Service and Acting Director of Student Affairs. The Qatari Minister was accompanied by Dr. Khaled Al-Hor, Director of the Commission for Higher Education at the Supreme Education Council.

Mr. Osama Salman conveyed Ajman Ruler’s greetings to H.E Minister of Education & Higher Education and expressed His Highness’s appreciation of the trust given by the Qatari Ministry to AUST. The visit comes in line with the vision of cooperation between the Emirate of Ajman and the Countries that have entrusted Ajman University of Science & Technology with the most important capital of a nation: Students.

Such initiatives bolster the existing relationships between AUST, its students and their representing nations. In the meeting that took place in the Qatari Ministry AUST milestones throughout its 25 years of achievement were recapped. Mr. Osama elucidated that the success of AUST graduates is highly the result of the University’s philosophy of fusing science and knowledge with the skill sets required in the job market. Future plans were also discussed which included the new majors required keeping the emerging Qatari market in mind. H.E recommended that the new majors required in the current market are multi-disciplinary as multi-tasked graduates are in high demand.

Osama Saeed Salman expressed his sincere gratitude for the support extended by the Qatari Ministry during the 25 years of AUST and reiterated the commitment of Ajman University towards excellence and the success of the students entrusted to it by their respective countries.

Ajman University delegation praised the role of the Embassy of the State of Qatar towards the Qatari Community of Students in the UAE and AUST in particular, and the close ties of coordination and cooperation that exists between Ajman University and Qatar Consulate General and the Cultural Attaché in Dubai.
