AUST Cricket Team – A Mix of Multinational Talent

Ajman University of Science & Technology houses under its wings a cricket team to reckon with. It’s not an understatement if this team is labeled a multifaceted one, for it has members from all the colleges of the University and its players hail from different countries as well. The likes of which are Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka.

The varsity represents on the green field the pioneering spirit of AUST, Education for ALL.  Every nationality brings with it a different culture and identity, and AUST proudly presents a breeding platform for all of them. The AUST cricket team has witnessed many a feats and earned many accolades. With the experienced captainship of Mahmood Mir and vice-captain Faraz Jaffri, they have won a number of tournaments and represented AUST at inter-college and nationwide competitions.

The cricketers are now gearing up with regular nets and practice sessions for the approaching Ramadan tournaments. Coach Abdulhameed Bakoor, AUST Sports Supervisor, feels proud of the team’s achievements throughout the academic year and looks forward to some thrilling games at the end of the season. Some of the team members are graduating from the University this summer, so they want to leave a remarkable history for their peers to follow. AUST wishes them every success in their Ramadan tournaments ahead.
