Ajman University joins UAE-wide initiative to inspire a new generation of Emirati entrepreneurs

Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) hosted successful Emirati entrepreneur, Anas Bukhash, Managing Partner of Ahdaaf Sports Club, at an Akoun workshop to inspire its students to become the UAE’s next generation of business leaders.

Attended by Mr. Osama Salman, AUST Vice President, and Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Assistant to AUST President for External Relations & Cultural Affairs; the workshop was part of an annual UAE-wide enterprise awareness campaign, Akoun, which is organised by Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development (ADCED).

AUST students were also invited to submit their bright ideas to the Akoun Business Ideas Competition which will award the best business proposals from each university with funding to help them on their way to start-up success.  Winners of the Akoun Business Ideas Competition will be announced early May 2013.

Akoun brings together governmental organisations and top-level Emirati entrepreneurs to collectively promote private enterprise to students across the UAE. The enterprise awareness campaign, now entering phase four, is reaching more young Emiratis than ever before with workshops and activities at universities in every Emirate  between February and April 2013.

Students can find more about Akoun by visiting www.akoun.ae which provides information on the campaign, features inspiring stories and collates resources to promote entrepreneurship.

The Akoun workshops are held in partnership with Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, Entrepreneurs Forum, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Ruwad Establishment, Western Region Development Council, Khalifa Fund and TwoFour54.
