Ajman Ruler Attends AUST Celebrations of the 42nd National Day
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman attended yesterday November 25, a ceremony organized by Ajman University of Science and Technology to celebrate the 42nd UAE National Day.
During the event His Highness Ajman Ruler hoisted the UAE flag, launching officially the start of the celebration activities, which included a parade attended by HH Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council; HH Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department; Sheikh Dr. Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Diwan; and Brigadier Sheikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, Deputy Commander General of Ajman Police; Mr. Ali Hassan Mohamed Hassan, Director of Ajman Educational Zone; Mr. Abdullah Mowaji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Professor Walid al-Hashemi, Director General of the Department of Finance and Administration at Ajman Diwan; Eng. Khaled Saeed Salman, member of AUST Board of Trustees; and Mr. Osama Saeed Salman, AUST Vice President; as well as assistants of the university president, in addition to AUST deans, heads of departments and a large crowd of AUST faculty, staff and students.
The celebrations included folk dances and heritage collectibles, such as traditional weapons, copperware, pottery, and weaving tools. AUST main building, J2, played host to stands representing the University’s different colleges. Sharjah Police Band and Haboos Dance Troop were presented and performed throughout the whole ceremony.
Osama Saeed Salman, Vice President of Ajman University stated that the UAE National Day is a day to celebrate all the principles instilled by the founding fathers when they raised the national flag for the first time in December 2, 1971. “Today, as individuals and institutions, citizens and residents, are joining hands and rallying around the country, the meaning of the National Day becomes clearer.” said AUST Vice President, adding, “It means unison at times of division, construction at times of destruction, and security and stability at times of strives and insecurity. The National Day is the UAE’s consensus on our wise leadership, our federation and our loyalty to this nation.”
Mr. Salman noted that the United Arab Emirates has made significant strides in all fields under the current Union, notably in the field of higher education and scientific research. He also extended his best expressions of loyalty and felicitations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and their brethren, members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, on the occasion of the 42nd National Day.
On His Highness Ajman Ruler’s sponsoring and attending this event, AUST Vice President commented that “His Highness’s participation with us in celebrating the National Day is a true testimony to the high attention paid by our leadership in promoting education and knowledge and the continued support they provide to higher education institutions nationwide for the sake of building a knowledge-based society.” Mr. Salman went on to say the celebration of this occasion by AUST students, faculty and staff is a genuine expression of their love and loyalty to this great nation and to our wise leadership.
