AUST Fujairah Campus to be named Fujairah University of Science and Technology

Within the Reform and Development process undertaken by Ajman University of Science and Technology Network, His Excellency Dr. Saeed Abdullah Salman, AUST Supreme President; officially announced, during the commencement ceremony of AUST in Fujairah’s class of 2012, the formation of Research and Work teams to study changing the name of AUST Fujairah Campus to “Fujairah University of Science and Technology”. The newly-named university will remain affiliated to the larger AUST Network and will benefit from its resources and facilities in education, information and investment, as well as from its wide relationships inside and outside UAE. This will help the newcomer to the higher education arena surmount many difficulties associated with the founding and restructuring phase, said Dr. Salman.

AUST Supreme President pointed out that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is well informed and coordinated with regarding the decision. He also said that “The Research and Work teams have already started evaluating the potential academic, legal, administrative and financial repercussions of retitling AUST’s Fujairah Campus into a full-fledged university baptized Fujairah University of Science and Technology (FUST).” Dr. Salman stressed that FUST is not a newborn university, but rather one that has indeed made great strides in developing the comprehensive three-dimensional vision of education, information and investment.
