The Student Success Center and the Teaching and Learning Center Host Workshop on Academic Advising
The Student Success Center, in collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Center, hosted a workshop on academic advising for faculty members at the University. This workshop aimed to equip faculty with the latest strategies and tools to enhance students' academic experiences and guide them towards sustainable academic and professional success.The workshop featured insights from Zeenath Reza Khan, PhD, Founding President and Board Member | Centre for Academic Integrity in the UAE, Associate Professor | University of Wollongong in Dubai, Board Member and Recipient of Research Excellence Award 2021 | European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI); Ms. Katya Burfitt, Regional Director, Studiosity; and Ms. Khansha Siddiqu, Partnerships Manager, Studiosity. Additionally, contributions were made by Prof. Nadir Kheir, Manager of the Student Success Center and Faculty at the College of Pharmacy.
The session focused on three main areas to improve faculty understanding and skills. It began with an overview of the new academic advising policy, highlighting key updates and clarifying faculty roles in its implementation. The workshop also addressed academic integrity in the context of generative AI (GenAI) and contract cheating, offering strategies to build a culture of integrity and tools for detecting and preventing academic misconduct. Furthermore, the session introduced the "Studiosity Plus" platform, demonstrating its features and role in supporting student learning, with practical applications and interactive scenarios for integrating it into academic advising practices.

They provide modern tools that improve educational quality, along with advanced platforms and training workshops. This ensures that students and faculty stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and techniques, maximizing student learning outcomes and empowering faculty to deliver effective and innovative educational content.
