Scientific Forum at the College of Mass Communication Explores the Future of Media

The College of Mass Communication organized a scientific forum for undergraduate students under the theme: "The Future of Media Between Theory and Practice: Student Perspectives." The forum featured the participation of media students who presented innovative proposals to develop media content and services based on scientific foundations. These proposals aimed to strike a balance between providing engaging and informative content while utilizing effective communication tools tailored to modern generations, such as Generation Alpha.

The presenting students included Hassan Al Raisi, Reem Ali, Dunya Qais, Sara Al Zain, Nadine Sameh, and Bushra Mohsen. Their discussions covered diverse topics reflecting deep and creative insights.

The forum was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Hossam Salama; the Bachelor’s Program Coordinator, Dr. Emad Omar; and several faculty members. This event is part of the College’s commitment to enhancing students’ research, analysis, critical thinking, and practical application skills.

The forum was organized as part of the Communication Theories course under the supervision of Prof. Maha Abdel Majeed. Student Dunya Qais, along with Sara Al Zain and Nadine Sameh, presented innovative strategies for creating cultural and scientific digital content in ways that attract viewers. Reem Ali proposed a plan to enhance professional training for media students, while Hassan Al Raisi conducted a comparative study between Reuters Institute reports on the future of media and his research on Arab youth preferences for long-form digital content on YouTube.

The forum concluded with an emphasis on the College’s dedication to fostering academic and practical skills in its students. Student Sara Al Zain described her participation as a standout university experience that allowed her to express her vision for developing media content with full support from her professors.
