Masar Career Excellence Committee Organizes Design Your Career Lecture
The College of Humanities and Sciences Committee affiliated with Masar Career Excellence at Ajman University, led by Dr. Salah Jad, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology, organized an awareness lecture titled "Design Your Career".
The session was presented by Dr. Ramzi Abdelaziz from the University of Alto in Finland, Ph.D. in Nanotechnology and Nanotechnology Engineering, who is renowned as an educational influencer. Dr. Belal Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Languages and Culture welcomed Dr. Ramzy and highlighted his remarkable achievements for the audience.
In the context of the lecture, Dr. Ramzy emphasized the importance of developing communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with others in a professional work environment. Moreover, he pointed out that building relationships in the workplace unlocks new opportunities in the professional field and contributes to achieving success. He also stressed the importance of continuing to develop self-learning skills by making the most of technology and modern learning tools, encouraging students to explore free learning resources available on the internet, including instructional videos on YouTube, the Google search engine, and platforms like ChatGPT and Bard.
In addition, the lecture featured discussions about the significance of learning languages to communicate effectively in multilingual environments and broaden students’ professional horizon. Dr. Ramzy noted that employers prefer individuals who are proficient in multiple languages, as it enhances their ability to engage with a wide range of colleagues and potential clients. The lecture also focused on acquiring academic writing skills and honing the art of public speaking to effectively convey ideas, highlighting the importance of crafting a compelling resume to stand out on professional platforms like LinkedIn.
